Outfitters Nation

You've probably seen some of my Outfitters Nation clothes in outfitposts like this one and this one. I own a lot clothing from them right now, and I thought it would be great to create my own Outfitters Nation spring/summer lookbook. Unfortunately I hadn't the time to finish this whole project yesterday, so I just took some pictures with some of the clothing. However, I think I'll do the lookbook after my vacation. If you can't wait to see more, "like" their facebook page. They got great actions, jeans reviews, giveaways, and information about the collections on it.

Simplicity at its best

Sometimes it's nice to dress outrageous, but keeping an outfit simple yet stylish is sometimes even more difficult. I think simplicity is an art. It's just about finding the perfect balance between items. When you're using the right technique, the outfit will be clean and chic and that's the thing I love. I think this collection is a brilliant exemplar of minimalism, almost a prototype of it. The first combination is my favorite. And adore the second one as well. Ok, I have to admit, I like them all. The whole collection is great. The balance between the colors is just right, and it looks like the quality of the items is.. Let's say, it makes me drooling. I myself am looking for a suit with white shorts and a white blazer, but unfortunately I can't order the one I saw right now. It can't arrive before I'm leaving Holland for my vacation. I hope it's still available when I'm back!

Martin Margiela Resort '12 Collection

Lost in this world

It was my intention to share something else with you, but when I saw these pictures, I couldn't resist sharing them first. They're a selection of the most beautiful photos I've seen today. I hope they will inspire you just like I got inspired by them. I love the braids, the flowers, the perfect use of the lights.. So romantic and mysterious.

PS Did you hear about the h&m-versace collab? I'm pretty excited, it all sounds so great. What are your thoughts about it?

pictures aren't by me

On the hunt

On the hunt for a new dress (or skirt) for my holiday. I prefer an asymmetrical one, and the skirt above is definitely no 1 on my wish list. However, I wouldn't complain if a nice stranger gave me the examples below too, hehe. Love the soft pastels and the flowy fabric of all of them. If you know a shop they sell affordable ones like these beauties, don't hesitate to tell me. I'd be so grateful. I'll post a new outfit tomorrow, so stay tuned chicas and chicos.

On their way home + inspiration

You've probably seen and read pictures and stories about the Yves Saint Laurent art ring on fashionblogs a lot lately. Not a very strange thing, because it's freakin' awesome. But there's one negative aspect of it to a lot of people: the price. The ring's very expensive, and most of us are (students) without unlimited money. Kept this in mind, I decided to search for an affordable look-a-like of it. LaDama sells a ring very similar to the YSL art ring. They offer gold-coral and gold-turquoise versions of it (as you can see below), but also gold-black and silver-black. I'm a huge fan of LaDama, so I can't deny you the possibility to know the shop. You may have seen the handchain and the armchain I've got from the shop in previous posts. And, as you might have noticed from my enthusiasm about it in this post, the art ring (and other rings) are already on their way to me. Come to mama, little treasures!

PS after the 'Read More' button, I'll share you some inspirational pictures that caught my eyes a few seconds ago. Hope you'll like them. And I need your opinion about something. Do you think the 'Read More' button is great, or do you think it causes confusion because you might think there's just one picture in every post? I need your help, so please let me know. Other suggestions about my blog are always welcome, of course.

PPS Tonight (or tomorrow early in the morning) I'll post a new outfit! I hope to hear from you then too.

Supertrash

Do you know the online shop of Supertrash? I accepted the challenge to create just one outfit with the items from the shop and what you see below is the result. I think it was really hard to style just one outfit, because I had much inspirations (not a difficult thing to have, when you see the amazing items they sell haha). However, this was the most creative combination, if you ask me.

Why I chose these items together? I think the trend of a bare midriff could be very hot without being raunchy (IF properly applied). If the trend is used in a proper way, it even could be chic and elegant. The top of the skirt has an elastic band, which makes it possible to wear the skirt on any desired height. In this outfit it's the intention to wear the top of the skirt above the navel, so that only the midriff is exposed. I chose the blue top 1) because of the blue tones in the skirt and 2) because of the similar color zipper as the zipper in the gorgeous leather jacket. I always attach special importance to details like this. I think that the matching of such tiny details could be the reason whether a look will be successful (or not). I chose bracelets with a little bit of blue in them too and to dress the feet I decided to pick these amazing cage booties. I've got cage booties with chunky heels myself, and I totally adore them. So when I saw these pretties, I didn't need much time to think whether I would style them in this outfit or not. I think they're an appropriate finishing touch to the outfit, because they're matching the black leather jacket (which is supposed to wear loose above this outfit). I think it's a must-do, when you're styling an outfit with items in different colors, to use every color twice. If you don't do this, there's a big risk one item will be "a maverick" and then the idea of a "well-matched" look is failed. However, there are exceptions to this, of course.

What do you think of this daring combination? What items would you choose together from the shop? Please leave your idea in the comment section below this post. I'd really love to read it. Thanks a lot! xoxoxoxoxoxo

Alvast heel erg bedankt. xoxoxoxoxoxo

I love accessoiries

A snake around my arm? Yes, please. No fear for the scary animal, I just felt happiness when I bought this ornament today. I discovered a new jewelrystore when I was waiting to be picked up from uni. I saw the window a hundred times, but I didn't visit the store itself. But today was different: I walked into the store and I can say it has become one of my favorite jewelry stores from now on. Most of the pieces are handmade and I wanted to buy the whole assortment. And let it be the store is on my way to uni, so "unfortunately" I have to pass it when I go there. That means: A lot new jewelry in the upcoming weeks to show you.

1. Snake ornament, wearble in many ways. I'll show you in upcoming outfitposts.
2. Couldn't resist those fun colors. Love this second purchase from the newly discovered store.
3. My new Esprit bag! Cute ruffles, don't you think?
4. And here's the snake again.
5. RegalRose cuff. If you want to win awesome jewelry from this shop, don't forget to join my Giveaway.
6. Third acquisition from the discovered store.

It keeps me prisoner

These are the things that catched my eyes today:

My biggest dreams, insanely cool crucifix heels, a gorgeous dress from Richard Nicoll, cuffs from Lindex, fringe, vintage sunnies, Alexander McQueen clutch among books, a leather jacket above a pleated silver maxi, Chanel jacket, Christopher Kane jackets, and an old world French design.. I think these pictures keep me prisoner.. I can't hold my eyes from them.

Treasures

Since I've got a huuuuge crush on the jewelry they sell at thetrendboutique, I have to share these pictures with you. I'd become totally crazy when I'd be able to wear one of these treasures. I definitely need to save money for new jewelry like this. Personally, I think cuffs and other statement jewelry like armor rings, bodychains, headpieces and big and beautiful necklaces are definitely to go for pieces for this summer. They give the finishing touch to an outfit, they have the ability to make simple clothing look chic and stylish ánd they look simply gorgeous. Here's a selection of my favorites. Enjoy!

PS I'm really exciting about the outfitpost I'll share with you tomorrow. I hope you'll come back to see and comment it!

Nonchalance

I couldn't resist sharing this picture with you. Let's analyse it: Background? Check. The setting of the picture is perfect. The palmtrees, the people, the shining sun.. It makes me long for summer. Clothing? Check. The loose shirt is just amazing. And I think the combination shorts-boots is in many cases stylish. It's so good for festivals or just for days when you need comfort in your life. I'm not sure about whether the colorful 'thing' around her arm is a shirt, but even this 'thing' looks like she thought about it. There's beige in it and that's also the color of the shirt, as you can see.  Accessoiries? Check.  The hat is more than cool and the sunglasses match so well with the color of her hair. The jewelry - necklace, rings - is gorgeous too. Oh, and don't forget the fringe bag! It matches so well with the shirt, don't you think?! It definitely completes this look.
