Who Wore What: Estelle and Solange in Boxing Kitten

[Boxing Kitten designer Maya Lake and Estelle]

What a year it has been for Boxing Kitten! Their emergence as one of the go-to brands for unique African Print couldn't have come at a better time, with Spring/Summer 2010 unofficially called the "All Africa Everything" season. So who's wearing Boxing Kitten this time?

Estelle was spotted several weeks ago at the launch party of Boxing Kitten's latest collection in a BK piece [see photo above]. More recently, she was spotted performing in South Africa after the opening game (South Africa vs. Mexico) and she wore a BK Frida jumpsuit [click to purchase]:

LOVE it! Catch a glimpse of her performance at the CTICC here [begins at the 4:26 mark].

This past weekend, Solange (who we've featured before wearing BK) was spotted wearing the Tam Tam dress [click to shop] from BK's latest collection:

Another hit!

Which of the looks is your favorite?

World Cup Fashion: Shakira's Tees

We're blogging this with one eye glued to our TV screens as Uruguay and Mexico battle it out for the top spot. But before this becomes a long-winded spiel about the joys of the World Cup (trust us, we're tempted!), we're here to keep things strictly fashion :-)

This is one of Africa's finest moments to showcase it's budding - and blooming! - fashion scene, which we at SLiq aim to celebrate everyday. We hope several of South Africa's designers in particular have found creative ways to stick their necks out [apart from Africa Fashion Week], and we hope they'll share the spotlight with the rest of their African brethren :-) All that remains to be seen and it's early days yet, but Shakira has a collection of cool tees out in collaboration with UNICEF, MANGO and her Barefoot Foundation to promote education in South Africa.

The tees come in a variety of four styles - "black, yellow and red, with graphics including an illustration of a lion's face and the phrases "Waka Waka" and "This Time For Africa." Simba, anyone? Super cute and for a worthy cause, too. We like lots!

The tees should now be available in MANGO stores and online. For more information, click here.
