Look Here: Doyin Abiola and Tokini Peterside

Who: Doyin Abiola and Tokini Peterside [of Fashion Auction House & LVMH]

Where: Moet Golden Night II @ Caliente, Lagos

What/Why: The theme of the night was gold, but these two ladies didn't take it too literally. Love Doyin's metallic brocade cutout dress & red nails, and Tokini's gorgeous heavily sequined off-shoulder top and retro red watch. Metallics and sequins with a pop of colour? Yes, please!

See more photos from the event here.

Who Wore What: Tokini Peterside in Maki-Oh (and Tiffany Amber!)

We always get a little thrill when we spot pieces from our favorite out-of-Africa designers off the runway! Tokini Peterside of Fashion Auction House (and the scrumptious Chopaholic blog!) is pictured here at FAH's latest event, Eden, from which just under N3,000,000 ($20,000*) was raised to support Genesis House, a rehabilitation center for women. Fabulous!

Ms. Peterside wears a sheer, mesh tank from Maki-Oh's "Everything in Proportion" collection, and she carries a Chanel-inspired ankara purse by Tiffany Amber (N44,000//$293*). A quick word on these purses -- they certainly deserve their own post! They're a creative collaboration between Tiffany Amber and Ohenaba Design of Ghana and they symbolize (at least to us) the rapid "Africanization" of everything -- and why not?

All said and done, do we love Tokini's look?

we'd rather be in Lagos/event: MINT CONDITION

yes, we said it -- we'd rather be in lagos. lots and lots of exciting events coming up this weekend...that we can't attend...BECAUSE WE'RE NOT IN LAGOS! :-( also, unfortunately, we have these things called jobs, projects, and no $$ to fuel our jets (...) so we're just going to have to make do with pictures. all that said, we're especially looking forward to MINT CONDITION. why should you care? well, registered members of the FASHION AUCTION HOUSE will be able to bid on the most fabulous pieces from some of the most enviable closets...and if that's not enough to convince you to go, we don't know what else to tell you! a little more about FASHION AUCTION HOUSE, maybe? it's the brainchild of tokini peterside and basically,

"Fashion Auction House specialises in luxury fashion items, and is an independent, transparent intermediary between collectors and lovers of beautiful things."

beautiful things like this:

and this:

and many, many more here.

like we said, WE'D RATHER BE IN LAGOS :-(

find out more about MINT CONDITION here...
