we've encouraged our facebook friends and blog readers to focus on Haiti and give. one-off giving is good, but it isn't sufficient. the process of rebuilding will be long and difficult. too much has happened too soon and while we're all startled and shaken, we mustn't forget those who are completely broken. please continue to give as much and as often as you can. we've put up a link on our sidebar giving you information on possible ways to do so. the links will continue to change. beyond and in addition to money, the huffington post has posted links to different organizations that are accepting clothes, shoes, blankets, etc. EVERY LITTLE (truly) helps.
2 of the 3 founders of this blog are in lagos for some days and while we've spoken to some concerned folks, the average nigerian can't donate via texts to US numbers or donate via debit or credit cards online. we've given, and we all continue to give, but if you'd really like to help and can't, please leave a comment and we'll donate $1 for each comment we receive, and then, for instance, if we get a total of 25 comments ($25), we'll double them (to give us 50 comments and $50) and give an additional $1 for each comment in the final tally, so a total of $75 will be donated. even if you can help/have helped and just want to comment on what you've done or are doing, feel free. every comment counts towards this goal. we'll continue to think up ways to raise money.
please give...and keep giving.
xo
p.s. funds raised will be donated to the red cross. please comment from now until sunday next week, after which we'll tally the comments. for now, we can only give a maximum of $100. if this number increases, we'll let you know. if you or your company would like to sponsor this project, please let us know as well.
